Quick Overview

Stock SCX24 axles hold your little crawler back. The steering angle is limited, and plastic parts flex when you push it. The MEUS Racing SCX24 V1 Metal Isokinetic Front & Rear Axles swap in aluminum and brass axles with a three-section CVD that steers up to 52°, plus a servo mount and adjustable rear link mount, for $89.99 a set.

It's the #1 product in MEUS Racing's Best Selling Products collection, and its page shows 100 reviews, with 86 of them five-star. This MEUS SCX24 isokinetic axles review covers what's in the box, what it fits, the gear details you need to check, and the price.

Key Features of the MEUS SCX24 Isokinetic Axles

Turn tighter. The isokinetic three-section CVD keeps steering smooth, with no jerks at large angles, for a maximum steering angle of 52°. On the page for its nylon version, MEUS says the stock axle manages 27°, so this is roughly double. One buyer on the page called the turn angle "unreal."

Metal where it counts. The axles are aluminum alloy and brass, with an anodized finish. The front axle weighs 85 g and the rear 35 g.

Wider stance. Both axles are +5 mm wider for more room when steering and more tire options.

Tunable gearing. Front and rear axles come with custom 2-14T gears. Swapping the rear axle to the included 2-16T gears gives a 14% underdrive (so the front effectively overdrives). If you want a front overdrive, MEUS says to change the front differential gear to 2-12T.

Adjustability built in. A high-torque adjustable servo mount, an adjustable-height rear axle with an upper link mount and a diamond-cut diff cover.

What's in the Box?

The front and rear set includes:

  • 1 isokinetic front axle and 1 rear axle
  • Steering links
  • 2-16T rear axle underdrive diff gear
  • Servo mount and rear links mount
  • Screw set and screw tool
  • Rubber O-rings (used between the wheel hub and the nut to stop it loosening)
All parts included with the MEUS SCX24 isokinetic axle set: axles, links, gears, mounts, screws and O-rings
Everything you need to swap your axles, from steering links to a screw tool

Each option is a separate product. If you order front only, rear only or 4WS, the package doesn't include the other options. Choose carefully.

Check the Gears Before You Install

MEUS lists two compatibility notes worth reading:

  • The front axle uses custom 2-14T gears that do not work with stock or aftermarket gears. The rear axle's 2-14T gear works with both stock and aftermarket gears.
  • The included 2-16T gear can only be installed on the rear axle.

The screws are small (M1.4), so use the supplied tool and a proper screwdriver. One German-language reviewer noted two screws on the diff cover stripped but said they were able to get them out of the threaded holes, so go gently.

Metal vs Nylon: Which MEUS SCX24 Isokinetic Axle Should You Buy?

MEUS also sells a nylon version of the same isokinetic design:

Metal (this review)Nylon
Front and rear set$89.99$59.99
Front axle only$59.99$39.99
Rear axle only$39.99$26.99

MEUS notes the nylon ISO axles are not the same as its metal ISO axles. Pick metal for the strongest build. Pick nylon if you want to spend $30 less.

Who It's For

Skip it if…
